NightSearcher iSpector 400
Compact work light
Price: £24
Rating: ★★★★★
Plenty to appreciate with the new iSpector, especially given its very affordable price tag. It’s about half the size compared to the Philips Xperion we like, yet it doesn’t skimp on output. It emits 400 lumens, which is slightly less than the Philips, but both performed similarly in practice.
Although the Xperion features a power-saving option, the iSpector 400 adjusts brightness to match its battery life. Where it truly shines over the Philips is with its torch—no competition there.
The iSpector lacks a rear magnet but includes a belt clip. The base magnet is sturdy, and the adjustable LED can be used flat without it slipping off metal surfaces. An 80cm USB-C charging cable ties it all together nicely, making this our top pick for a work light now.
